The Görög Sisters piano duo is set to play at the Festival Young Artists Bayreuth (original name: ‘67. Festival junger Künstler Bayreuth’) on August 17-19, 2017. The piano duo was invited to perform at this unique festival, which is a collaboration of young artists and cultural managers resulting in a great ‘Festival Experience’.
It is an honor to join the list of about 450 young artists from around the world who will have a chance to work together and learn from each other in a total of 14 workshops for the various disciplines, including singers, dancers and actors. The festival is traditionally rounded up with a series of concerts by award-winning young artists, in this case, the Görög Sisters.
The Sisters will play three concerts under the title ‘Four hands playing the keys of time’ (‘Vierhändig auf den Flügeln der Zeit’). On the first night, August 17, the Sisters will treat their audience to a program of four hands pieces by Franz Schubert, Sergei Rachmaninov, Camille Saint-Saëns and György Ligeti. The location is in Speinshart, at the Praemonstratenserabtei, Musiksaal, and the concert starts at 7 pm.
The second concert is held on August 18, 2017 at the Mehrzweckhalle in Brand, starting at 7.30pm. The works performed will also include four hands compositions of Franz Schubert, Sergei Rachmaninov, Camille Saint-Saëns and György Ligeti.
The Görög Sisters will finish their short concert tour with a matinee of compositions for piano duos. The concert program contains works by Sergei Rachmaninov, Maurice Ravel, Béla Bartók, Aleksandar Vujić and Witold Lutoslawski. The concert will take place in Bayreuth, at the Steingräberhaus, Kammermusiksaal, starting at 11 am.
Should you be in the Bayreuth area, we kindly invite you to come and enjoy the Görög Sisters’s display of masterly musical skills and heartfelt harmony.
