With the summer full in swing, the Görög Sisters are proud to report that despite the raging storms at the Balaton lakeside, we played successful concerts at the Lake BalARTon festival (Klassz a pARton). Here is a quote from the summary by Estilla Molnár published in the August 1, 2018 issue of the Fidelio magazine:
“This year only one concert was marred by a raging lakeside storm, but the pianist from Subotica, Noémi and Enikő Görög seem to have accepted their fate that their annual concerts be accompanied by thunder. Last year they were forced to take refuge from the lightning at the Cardiology Hospital, this year they concert was taken in by the Magtár at Vörösberény.
We were overjoyed to discover that the Magtár is currently housing the Bogányi piano. Together with the festival’s own piano, they played an amazing two-piano concert, to the utter delight of the captivated audience. The Görög Sisters assured their audience that they would try again the following year, if maybe they could manage to play all the concerts in fair weather, so that even more people could enjoy their performance.
The most memorable moment of the concert was the Lutosławski four-hand piece, but the entire evening was filled with four hands and endless humor on their part.”
The next stop on the Sisters’ summer tour is the 68. Festival Young Artists Bayreuth in Germany.
The Görög Sisters piano duo are to return to play at the Festival Young Artists Bayreuth (original name: ‘68. Festival junger Künstler Bayreuth’). The piano duo was invited to perform at this unique festival, which is a collaboration of young artists and cultural managers resulting in a great ‘Festival Experience’.
It is an honor to join the list of about 400 young artists from around the world who will have a chance to work together and learn from each other in a total of 25 workshops and master classes for the various disciplines, including singers, dancers and actors.
The festival is traditionally rounded up with a series of concerts by award-winning young artists, in this case, the Görög Sisters.
