The IV. World Piano Meeting of Coimbra, Portugal, was a huge musical event organized by the International Academy of Music “Aquiles Delle Vigne”.
The festival’s program featured masterclasses, concerts and competitions for both piano solo and for two pianos. From February 2-9, 2019, Coimbra hosted pianists from all around the world, who were given the opportunity to work with some of the most prestigious international teachers and share their experiences with students from various countries.
We are happy to announce that the Görög Sisters piano duo took First Prize at the IV. World Piano Meeting of Coimbra in the category of two pianos. The award for first prize was a concert with the eminent Orquestra Clássica do Centro conducted by Luís Carvalho. The concert was held on February 9, 2019 at the amazing venue of Convento São Francisco. We treated the audience to the Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Concerto for Two Pianos in E flat major.
We’d like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to the festival organizers for this amazing experience, it’s been an honor playing with the orchestra in front of such a special audience.
