On May 28th, 2022, the Görög Sisters piano duo played the closing concert of the Essentia Festival in Molina de Segura, Spain. The program began with Maurice Ravel’s Ma mère l’Oye, followed by his La Valse in a four-hand transcription by Lucien Garban and concluded with Alfred Schnittke’s Gogol Suite for two pianos. The tales hidden in the music were unveiled in a suggestive performance by the actor Fran Bermejo.
We owe a huge thank to the artistic directors of this wonderful festival, pianists Naira Perdu Molina and Vicente Prieto Martínez for making this concert a truly wonderful experience.
Below you can read Naira Perdu Molina’s thoughts on the festival.
„The closing concert of “Essentia”, Festival of the Arts and the Senses took place at the Theatre “Villa de Molina”, Spain. Görög Sisters offered an extraordinary piano duo recital in which they stood out for their wide expressive and dynamic spectrum, interpretations of great maturity and the perfect synchrony of two deep and strong personalities in constant listening.
Each concert of this festival counted with an interdisciplinary collaboration. In this case it was the actor Fran Bermejo who guided the audience towards the sensations contained in each piece. The result was an impressed audience that applauded in standing ovation, unable to contain their emotion after such a music and performance. A perfect closing for the first edition of this vibrant festival.”
