We would like to express our gratitude to the organizers at the Atelier Marcel Hastir for inviting us to this special and amazing place, so inspiring for us as artists. Also, we would like to thank Naira Perdu Molina and Vicente Prieto Martínez for the effort to make our concert in Brussels a highly visited and unforgettable event.
Below you can read some of the organizers’ comments about our concert. You can also find out more about the stunning history of the Atelier Marcel Hastir.
Who was Marcel Hastir?
“To start the new year the piano recital of the Görög Sisters (8 January 2017) took the Atelier Marcel Hastir (Brussels) to some very great moments of classical music (Mozart’s Piano Sonata in C major for four hands) and romantic music (Saint-Saëns, Danse macabre -Brahms, Waltzes), as well as modern works like Samuel Barber’s “Souvenirs”, and, naturally, music based upon folk traditions like the Hungarian (J. Brahms, Hungarian Dance No. 6), the Slavic (A.Dvořák, Slavonic Dance No. 2) and the Serbian (A. Vujić, Serbian Kolo – folk dance), the latter being the tradition in which the pianist sisters grew up as children of a Hungarian family living in northern Serbia, rooted in musical culture. A striking version of Piazzolla’s “Libertango” was given as an encore.
Their recital in Brussels revealed a range that was at once virtuoso and sensitive, full of the passion that comes from the bottom of the heart and touches by its charm, full of affection which creates emotion and happiness. The large audience, which included entire families with their children, brought standing ovations for Noémi and Enikő Görög. The “Atelier” wishes them a very bright artistic future.”
